On my 32nd birthday, a box arrived at my door from my husband’s alleged mistress, and it turned my world upside down.
My day started with Dexter whispering about a surprise. Our family, including our energetic son Dave, enjoyed a perfect party with friends and laughter.
But then, an unknown caller told me to collect a parcel alone. Curious and a bit apprehensive, I picked up the box, only to find it contained my missing jewelry and a note from someone claiming to be Dexter’s mistress.
The note invited me to an address, urging me to come alone.
Tears filled my eyes as I drove to the address, a dilapidated house on the outskirts of town. Inside, the lights flickered on, and my friends, family, and Dexter jumped out shouting, “Surprise! Happy Birthday!”
Dexter explained it was all a prank. The “mistress” was part of the surprise, and the jewelry was a replica. Although relieved, I was annoyed by the scare.
As the party continued, I resolved to get my revenge for this unforgettable birthday surprise.
